Iguana de los Mangos

sea turtle hatching & release

The beaches surrounding Iguana de los Mangos are natural nesting grounds for both Ridley and Leatherback Sea Turtles.  Both varieties visit annually and turtle nesting starts in July.  Hatchlings are released October thru April.  Two nurseries are located on our beaches where you may participate in the hatchling release into the Pacific.

COME EXPLORE BAJA SUR

Todos Santos and Baja Sur abound with natural beauty and provide some excellent hiking, fishing and costal exploration opportunities.  I would be pleased to make arrangements for any of these outings, or assist in any way I can on other activities you may be interested in.

horseback ridiNG

Arrangements can be made for your horseback riding adventure.  Our local rancheros will tailor their horses and experience with yours for an unforgettable ride along the golden shores of the Pacific Ocean or the rustic Mexican countryside through dry river beds and mountain plateaus.

sierra de la laguna mountains

Besides the obvious beauty, drive through riverbeds (sometimes dry, sometimes not)  and witness the changes in climate and vegetation. Arriving at the ranch of a local legend - Marcos crafts his pottery from clays harvested from the local canyons  Each piece is individual, crafted free-hand and fired in a wood-burning kiln. Explore white granite canyons, riverbeds and waterfalls, ranches where lifestyles haven't changed in hundreds of years ..... totally isolated and self-sufficient.

WHALE WATCHING

The Baja is graced by both Grey Whales and Humpback Whales during their winter migration; November thru April.  Whilst it would be useful to bring binoculars, quite often the whales breach so close to shore they may not be necessary.
